Crafting Comfort: A Journey of Functionality and Modernization
In this 2000s-built home, we embarked on an internal renovation project that not only brought new life to the space but also significantly enhanced comfort and functionality. Our transformation involved enclosing a previously leaking balcony and converting it into a vibrant dining area. This innovative step not only addressed issues related to dated aesthetics and moisture concerns but also added a dynamic dimension to the home.
The project was deeply inspired by the clients' strong affection for their neighbourhood, and their desire to create a more energy-efficient and functional living space. While the small footprint of the property presented its own set of challenges, our meticulous planning and creative expertise, in collaboration with Matthew Oczkowski Architecture (MOA.studio), allowed us to achieve the desires and goals of the family for the build.
To add character and elegance, blackbutt engineered flooring was installed throughout the home which tied in with the internal timber features on the stairs. Strategically placed skylights elevated the enclosed balcony and mezzanine, whilst detailed joinery work by J&V Modern Cabinets added to the design and functionality of the home.
James Hardie 'Stria' cladding complemented the preserved weatherboards and brickwork. Our dedication to striking the right balance between aesthetics and efficiency was also evident in our attention to optimising functionality, particularly in the bathroom and laundry areas. These spaces were designed not only to be aesthetically pleasing but to be highly practical and efficient.
Lastly, we focused on enhancing the home's overall energy performance by incorporating a vapour permeable spray foam insulation in the wall. This step further underlined our commitment to ensuring that this home not only met but exceeded the expectations and needs of the family.
From the client.
"It was an absolute pleasure working with the team at NW Build. Throughout the project it was obvious to us that the team cared about our home and the final result, which exceeded our expectations. We could not recommend NW Build more highly."
